Vision: United for public health
Mission: Leading public health collective impact through advocacy, collaboration, communication and workforce development.
In August 2018, the group set ten goals around their four missions areas. The goals include uniting around key public health issues, formalizing the group's structure and developing a sustainability plan. The group will identify internal and external communication processes and will research workforce development opportunities to benefit public health professionals.
Improved trust as a result of collaboration led group to explore ideas to maximize CHIP funding in Missouri
Oct 2018 - letter sent to Foundations in support of #HealthierMO initiative
Jan 2019 - letter sent to Governor Parson describing value in creating a statewide prescription drug monitoring program
Aug 2019 - group identified top public health priorities on which to begin education and advocacy campaigns
Recognizing "We are stronger together than we are individually," the group seeks to collaborate and speak with a unified voice on key public health issues.
Recognizing that change does not happen overnight, the group is formalizing their structure and developing a sustainability plan to demonstrate long-term commitment.
Recognizing the need to unite under a single voice, the group quickly identified a vision and mission. The workgroup is now working to facilitate internal and external communication.
Recognizing the need to shore up Missouri's public health workforce, the workgroup is working to identify recruitment, training and professional development opportunities.
